Coffee Flavor Profiles
What Does This Coffee Taste Like?
On this page, you will find all Brown & Jenkins Single Origin Coffees listed based on the flavor that describes them best, so you can start with an easy point of reference when choosing your favorite brews.
What is “Coffee Profile?” Simply put, the Coffee Profile is how the coffee tastes, how it feels in the mouth, whether it feels sweet or earthy, rich or mild. As you might imagine, coffees from different regions of the world offer different profiles depending on climate, cultivation and harvesting methods, and roast. Cupping experts employ a wide range of minute criteria to assess each coffee, but for us everyday coffee lovers, flavor is key.
First, a Few Important Terms
Acidity - Acidity does not refer to a PH level; it refers to the sharpness of taste a sip impresses upon the palate. The terms clean and bright describe a well-defined acidity.
Flavor - Flavor is the actual nuance of that taste, such as fruity, floral, chocolaty or nutty.
Body - At this level of interpretation, we are interested in the lingering impression a sip leaves in the mouth. Consider Espresso versus pour-over. The first is heavy due to its oil content; the second has a higher water content and thus feels light.

COFFEE PROFILE PER FLAVOR - Note that some coffees will be listed under more than one flavor category. Also note that good coffee flavor is distinct enough to give character, but not strong enough to overpower the brew. Simply CLICK on a coffee's name to go straight to it.
