Burned the pie? Dropped the soufflé on the floor? Affogato is a fantastic last-minute dessert option, and you probably already have all the ingredients! Check out the recipe below.
**Ingredients**
Brown & Jenkins Coffee (we recommend)
- Dark Chocolate Espresso Coffee
- Café Espresso Blend Coffee
Vanilla ice cream or gelato
Optional Additions
- Amaretto liquor (Almond flavor)
- Frangelico liquor (Hazelnut flavor)
- Chocolate shavings
- Biscotti
- Whipped cream
**Recipe**
1. Add one large scoop of ice cream to a small dish.
2. Pull a shot of espresso using an espresso machine. Alternatively, if using a French press, measure 15 grams of finely ground coffee for each shot of espresso you want to pour. Add enough hot water to fully submerge the grounds, plus additional water to fill an equal amount above the press. Steep for 5 minutes.
3. You can also brew a strong pot of coffee using an auto-drip machine by adding one heaping tablespoon of coffee grounds for every 6-ounce cup of water. Press the grounds down in the coffee filter after measuring them, and manually turn off the machine when the coffee reaches your desired strength.
4. Pour the espresso over the ice cream and add your desired toppings.
Enjoy your delicious affogato!
