Coffee Chocolate Fondue

Unctuous comes from the Latin, “unctum,” meaning ointment and also from “ungere,” meaning to anoint. A good chocolate fondue is all of this of course. Ha! we are getting carried away, ever so slightly it seems, and with good reason. Let us, then, anoint some fresh fruit, biscotti or pretzels with Coffee Chocolate Fondue.

Ingredients – For 3 cups

16 ounces sweetened condensed milk
10 ounces semisweet chocolate, broken down
1/2 cup Dark Roast
Assorted fresh fruit

Method -

Melt and combine the condensed milk and chocolate in a heavy saucepan, on low heat. Keep the heat low and stir constantly until well blended and smooth. Stir in the coffee. Serve warm. You can refrigerate leftover portions (assuming leftovers are even possible) and reheat, always slowly. You might want to add a touch of milk or water if you reheat.

Serving Suggestion - For a true experience of taste and textures, serve with assorted fruit, B’s Pantry Biscotti (Cranberry Pecan, Brown Sugar Butterscotch, Maple Walnut and Almond Lemon) and pretzels. The Biscotti is available in the big, irresistible jars on the Brown & Jenkins counter.
